I am a competent electrician and have all of my certificates, nvq3 etc I have also passed my 2391, can I sign off domestic jobs or do I need to do part p etc?? I am not with the nic eic or a governing body either, some people say I can and some say I can't

if you are in england or wales and want to comply with the law, you need to join a scam. elecsa are the cheapest. £370 + VAT, i think.

If you're not a member of a scam then you will need to notify LABC before starting any jobs and pay their fee for them to sign it off. Just because you are fully qualified doesn't negate the fact that LABC need to be notified, advantage of being a member of a scam is they do the notifying on your behalf after the job is completed. LABC will charge several hundred pounds to inspect each job you do whereas you pay a scam £300/400/500 a year to be a member and notify on your behalf for £1.50 a time. Search forum as there are loads if posts on the subject.
