Hi
Im attempting to quickly knock up a temporary alarm using an external alarm box (no control box) with a tamper loop wire wrapped around some kit

I will be using a external sounder, long length of multicore cable and a 12v power supply.

the box is a XS3D
terminals.....
ST- strobe
TMPR tamper 0v
S- bell -
12V supply
0V supply (bell hold)

im guessing link tmpr through loop cable back to 0v and connect 12v +/- to supply.

Does any one have some experience to give any guidance

take 12V to 12V + and 0V supply, 1 leg being the tamper loop. when the tamper loop is broken, the sounder will activate off it's own internal battery. you won't get strobe, though.

Does that means im using the negative leg of the supply to act as tamper ? (wire loop)

What about the boxes tamper connections do these need to be connected somehow ?

Thanks

Wiring as Tel suggested, use box tampers as normal, back plate and cover, again if remove will set of siren only.....

I have it up and running and looks good

I used the tamper for (-) neg loop to supply, (+12) pos supply and left the 0v disconnected, this allows the internal tamper switch to activate the bell box when cover removed.

Does this sound about right?

I have a 12v 1.5mA DC supply driving it but the bell sounds a little quiet, any comment on that ?

The previous bell box worked fine. I think it was just lacking the added security of anti tamper. Can this one be wired the same?
