Hi
I've inherited a very tight space, a KMF switch and some split-con for a sub-main to try and tidy up. It's a joyous non-restrained single insulated mess at the moment. The right solution is a different bigger switched fuse, but there isn't room.
I don't think the standard KMF shroud could be encouraged to have a large enough cable entry without cracking/destroying it as it's designed for T&E.
There's some slack on the splitcon before it disappears up a cavity in some 25mm galv conduit with a bush on the end. It does seem that someone made an effort to comply.
Ideas/options I can imagine:
1 - get a 3 finger heat shrink boot. I've never used one but I think it's possible to use one with splitcon? Any experiences to share?
2 - there's just about room for a wiska box with a stuffing gland at top, drill 3 holes in the bottom, and mount directly above KMF. A bodge to fix a bodge, but an improvement?
I realise splitcon is not in vogue, I don't think there's a single video of someone terminating it on youtube. I only remember using it twice ever so I'm not overly familiar with it. To be clear we are talking copper stranded with multiple separate neutral and earth conductors.
Thanks for any advice.
