single phase motor- 4 core cable query

Im in the process of wiring a £15000 biomass boiler for a client, its basically an s plan on a large scale, the boiler is a wood pellet burning ETA (Austrian), The boiler is fed from a 7.5 tonne hopper which has a single phase capacitor start motor which drives a pump which pumps the pellets to a smaller hopper located within the boiler, This is the first install in the UK from the firm which supplied the boiler to my customer, Basically my Q is this

The motor on the pellet hopper only starts when the pellets in the boiler are low, I have run a 3 core cable from the motor to the PCB on the boiler, the terminal on the boiler is where this cable goes has for terminals PE, N, Vor and Ruck!!, ive searched for a translation for vor and ruck but cant find one, The technical guy on the phone dosent even know how many cores to run,

can any of you think where a single phase motor needs four cores?, there is no switch on the hopper, ive been told by the MCS guy (plumber)i cant fire the boiler, so i cant find out which of the vor and ruck terminals becomes live for pellet demand.

see if they can send you a schematic.
How many terminations are on the motor?
You need to understand how the motor is wired up for starting and running.
Cannot help with translation but suspect a cunning plan to give high torque at start up and lower current under running

Ruck is german for jolt or jerk. vor is german for before.......or at least thats what google said.:dizzy2:


There must be a level sensor of some kind there somewhere, do you have the detailed schematic???

Thats my chain of thought, one sensor to detect low pellet level & one to detect a blockage perhaps.....one runs the motor until the level is satisfied and the other 'jerks' it intermittently to try and ease a blockage.

Vor means forwards. Ruck is a contraction on the German word Ruckwarts! It means backwards or as we would say reverse! So what you have is a forwards and reverse for the motor in order to prevent blockages!
