Hi all
does any one fit double pole sockets if so what benefits the cost on a standard house rewire

I always and only fit double pole, no reason as to why, I just think for the extra pennies you might as well switch both, it's got to be safer I would think, if a socket was wired te wrong was round line Nd neutral, it's definitely going to be safer.

The biggest advantage to a DP switched socket is when there is a bleeding heavy lump of furniture preventing you from removing the plug. You can switch the switch to perform an IR test without affecting the stab which is inevitably plugged in to it.

To be absolutely honest, i haven't seen sockets or FCU's with single pole switches for many years now, didn't know they were still being manufactured.... All i can say, is it must be the real budget manufacturers that are still producing them!!
