Site clearance and over order , freebies . Do you use them ?

I have got a mate who now runs the family pipe fitting / plumbing firm , and he has eyes like a poo house rat ! He is always bringing van loads of gear back from site , which has been rescued from the skip pile . He has always said that their last home which was built about 20 years ago and was a large 5 bed with double garage , was a good 80% built with salvaged stuff ! He phoned me on Friday night to say that he had just left me 14 sheets of 80mm celotex , 2 rolls of rockwool, 3 boxes of collated screws and a bundle of MDF architrave down my stores , as he did not need it but did not want to see it go in the skip !!! This got me to thinking what goodies have others acquired over time ?

I would go as far as to say , he was a good mate at that !resents2: He has literally acquired small steel portal building's in the past ! The list is endless . I am lucky to find a snapped screwdriver !

I can believe him when he says his house was 80% from a skip
I turned my attic into a fine bedroom,walls, flooring and all from the site skips
All I bought was paint and a Velox window

So much stuff goes in site skips. I have had loads of useful lengths of timber, rockwool, plasterboard, kingspan, furniture, and even a few Belfast sinks one time.
