I'm looking at adding an additional CU to an old farmhouse which has 1 old wylex rewirable CU as well as 3 x old MEM black metal CU with levers at the side and rubber insulated cables!!

This is going to supply an immersion heater (which was previously plugged in via a 13A plug) a towel radiator electric element and a shower pump.

The new consumer unit will be fed from an existing henley block.

The main question is, is it acceptable to site the consumer unit on the wooded board that the incoming 3 phase supply is attached to as room is a bit precious, there is no meter on the board, just the 4 wires and 3 x 100A fuses. The henley block is also attached to the corner of the board.

Another question too, there is no main switch to isolate all the circuits in one move, is it best practise to install one??

Any help greatly appreciated
