i dont want to sound nasty but TBH if you don't know i would pass the job on to some one who does, i have been a Sky Approved communal installer for 7 years, it is far from as simple as wack up a dish and split the signal, there is a lot of things to take into account.
how many Flats need feeds ?
distance of each one from dish?
Quad,Octo or Quatro LNB ?
cable type and size based on calculated losses.
then you will need to calculate the loss across the cable and compensate for it on each flat depending on distance.
the basics are you ned dish either feeding the rooms directly from a Quad or Octo LNB for up to 8 feeds, however if more are required you need a Quatro with a multiswitch, depending on the building and layout you may need to cascade them to prevent loss over large distances.
however as i said iv been doing this for years as there is no simple answer, my Promax Spectrum Analyser cost over ÂŁ2k bought specifically for doing these jobs, people think its easy to put up and aerial or dish, like any trade to do it properly it takes years of training and experience.
