Is there a regulation for how much of the cable needs sleeving. Or does it just need to be identified?

not like some do and completely cover the original colour, so you can't see what it is. bugger for fault finding.

So there are NO regs saying all the cable should be sleeved? My boss is adamant it all needs sleeving but my argument is if you're using numbered multicore then leaving the numbers visible on part of the cable saves you disconnecting if the need for fault finding occurs.

If he's paying the wages and wants it completely sleeved then do it, who cares, it is sleaving not a dangerous thing he wants doing even if OTT.

Good practice would suggest that adequate sleeving, plus allowing future technicians to see the cable identification numbers is good practice IMHO!!
