Slimmest downlights available?

Hello,

does anyone know of any extremely slim downlights that could fit into plasterboard or a recess of maximum 40mm? I'd even conside semi recessed downlights at this stage as I need them for a celotexed ceiling and I only just learned that cutting into it will cause problems. The best I've been able to find are under cabinet lights but I don't think they'd be suitable. Any help is gratefully received.

Thanks for the link. The low energy light looks like a good choice but I'm not sure even that will fit (the ones that need a 52mm void). I'll have to double check.

page 5 requires a 32mm depth, i dont know how much space above the manufacturer states is required, if any due to the type of fitting

I've used these under stairs partly due to their shallow depth and because they run cool with the gx53 fitting. They are fine but lamps are expensive and one failed within 3 months.

can you remember how much space you have to leave above the fitting?
