We currently have an issue with a PV system that we have fitted and wondered if anyone could offer some advice on what the problem could be.

We have fitted a 2.7kw system and the SMA 3000TL Inverter.

We are only producing on average 3kw a day and after looking in to it we have found that the inverter keeps cutting out on a regular basis but isnt coming up with any error messages???

Thanks

Have you checked the country settings? There seems to be a lot of the TL and HF inverters coming along now that are not set to G83/1 and english. The two dials inside the inverter (a & b, c is for the bluetooth) come set to 0,0 This is the factory setting and should be set to the right country. With inverters coming from all over the place though, this is not always the case. On start up the display should say g83, if it does not, or if it is in a foreign language, then you need to change the settings to 5 and 8. This is the seeting for g83 and english, have a look in the manual. I have had a few like this now- either non g83 or the inverter starts up and is in german and there seems to be quite a few posts on here about this issue.

Also, make sure you have a good earth. Transformerless inverters don't like poor earths - therefore they are rarely a good idea on TT systems.

GET A GRID GUARD CODE FROM SMA

Anyone fitting SMA should have one as a matter of course, its assigned to you as an individual installer and is trackable, so dont give yours to anyone else......

Looks like complacency setting in.....................read the installation instructions.................
