SMA 4000TL G83 parameters

Does anybody know how the G83 parameters are achieved when set on this device (e.g. setting 5 & 8 on the roatry switches)?

Does it limit the output curent to 16A no matter what the voltage, or does it cap the output power to 3.68 or 3.84KW?

Neither. A 16A current limit is not part of the tests to certify the inverter for G83.

contact sma and get your sim guard code this will allow you to alter settings
must info dno unless you are limit it to 3.68
the is a version which is limit to 3.68 (v ) go on sma web site download the cert if you got the v version
its limit to 3.68 check the cert

G83 is tightening so that a 16A limit will be in place this is happening on PowerOne PVI-3.6-OUTD in the next week or so and will (if it hasn't happened already) rolled out to other inverter manufacturers.
