Hi,
what mm2 can I get away with on a 40m run between a tripower17000 and the metering point.
The Instructions states:
6 mm2 up to 31m
8 mm2 up to 41m
10 mm2 up to 52m
16 mm2 up to 83m
It states the resistance is not allowed to be above 1 Ohm and the loss is not above 1%
otherwise the inverter might trip at peak load.
We messured 0.6 Ohm on a 40m run of 4 mm2.

Has anybody got experience with this,
What would you recommend?
Regards
germ

I put 6 x 17 kw tripowers in on a ground mount scheme, spread out ac cables were between 130 and 170 meters from meter point.

When we worked out the potential losses, it was more cost effective to the customer to use 35mm2 over the SMA suggested cable sizes from the sma software, which if I recall we're 16mm, despite what the paperwork says.

You will doubtful get away with 4mm with the regs, 6mm sounds tight, forget sma, you have to work to the regs, but I would go 10.

I have just done a 3.8 kw single phase install, 65m main run, 16mm went in.

Hi, just noticed I mistakenly was talking about DC. Of course I meant to write AC!!
But I think you understood my question anyway!
Many thanks
