small suntech stp250-20??

Quoted a job tofay, 10 panels max on roof as 5.8x4.4M in size, but he has a quote for 14 panels, the suntech as above.

I cannot find any such panel that would need to be sanyo 235W size to fit 14 on on landscape, does anyone know if a small sized suntech is available??

We often came across jobs where some moronic sales drone had quoted an impossible number of panels for the roof. We usually got those jobs when we explained why we were quoting for less panels.

Well it baffled me i have trawled the web and cannot find a small suntech panel so what do these people do when the customer says yes? Then turn up on the day and can only fit 10! embarrassing!

I'm sure it's a well rehearsed ploy. Get the order by offering more than the competition, then offer a derisory discount when only 10 will fit.

Just point out to the customer that they will not fit on the roof, show them the maths.
and if a company has overlooked such a fundamental design issue I wonder what else they will get wrong?

I have quoted two jobs recently where the previos salesman has quoted for more panels than will fit on the roof, i showed the customer the results from pvsol, whith the 2d overlay on the roof and it got us both the jobs, so its not doing them much good telling lies.

as above just point out you can't fit those panels on the roof. If I got a quid for the amount of times I have had to correct what another company has said or done then I'd have enough money to go on a two day bender
