Currently I have a fused switch situated in the hallway that operates the towel rail in the adjoining bathroom.
Looking to replace with a smart switch but considering options.
I have been told that I could put the smart switch adjacent to and after the present switch but I don't want a mismatch of switch fronts
Is there some way of installing a fuse holder to the rear of the smart switch (with a deep back box) or does the fuse have to be readily accessible?

I assume this is the same as this thread.

Not entirely. This switch is for the towel rail...the other is a light switch. Both on the same wall.

a minor infringement.all over europe (in hotels for example) they have sockets within 1 m of a shower and you don't see many injuries from these.

Fully agree it's a silly reg., but a reg. it is.
Shower enclosure directly off of a fairly small bedroom: Try explaining to the customer that they can't have any s/sockets in their bedroom.
Despite the fact that there are s/sockets with glass fronted touchscreens! How much safer can they be.

3 more ridiculous regs:
1.metal CUs. addressing the symptoms, not the cause.
2. light switches where toddlers can reach ( OK building reg, but taken up by IET)
3. stupid cable colours where theys all grey in the dark.
