smoke alarm cable protection?

I am about to wire two interconnected smoke alarms with 1mm csa3 core and earth to the lighting circuit (bungalow) can any one tell me if the cables need any special mechanical protection or do the normal cable routing rules apply? cheers for any help..

They are subject to exactly the same requirements as any other sub-circuit.
