Hi, What type of smoke detector would be suited to a utility room. Heat or optical.

I meant what is in the room? Aico website tells you what alarm to choose for the different kinds of fires, if it was a utility room with say a washing machine which may have a lot of clothes lying in it, then an ionisation alarm would be best.
