smokes in an extention

I have just started the wiring in a small extention (bedroom with en-suite) do I have to wire smoke alarms through out the house its on minor works as I am splitting the old ring circuit that is on RCD and spuring the light from the ring.

Check the extension plans as it should have them marked on there (usually).

I don't have electrical drawing plans. the builder wants me to Liesa with the customer about positions of sockets, lights etc.
But I am unsure about hard wired smoke alarms in extensions to complied with regs and if I need to install them trough out the cottage

The building plans, not the electrical ones.

When i have been involved in ANY forum of extension etc, there have always been drawings for the builder and they have location and quantity of smokes marked on them.

If you are unsure then maybe best to give the BCO a call.

Is there smokes already installed in the property?If there isn't,why do you need to install them in the exstension unless they have been specified
