Sorry to sound like a broken record, and no doubt im posting this is the wrong section, but im confused.com

Im near on finished my 2330 course.

Am i right in thinking that this qualification will be worthless unless i add to it before a certan date? ( does it run out at all? )

Also, I understand the 2391 is superdooper hard, i have no intention of attempting it until i am very confident so at least another year. What other courses are out there which will help me to become a spark and make me more employable, are all these other courses 3 yearers or are they slightly shorter??

Thanks and sorry to be a pain..

The 2330 is currently the industry standard electrical qualification and will be seen as such for many years to come.

If you talking about the NVQ 2356 then City & Guilds have extended the dates from March 2011 till July 2012 so you've plenty of time if needed. Also because you'll already have the 2330 I believe there will be a short cut should you require the new 2357. Which is just your 2330 and the NVQ rolled in to the same qual.

The 2391 is hard but manageable for most competent sparks with experience, and your probably wise to wait.

Thanks again..[/QUOTE]

As far as I'm aware you just have to take allot of pictures and write up about jobs you've done.
Allot of it is H&S.

You have to do various jobs using different methods, cabling, ladders etc

So you could have Pyro, install using a platform
Another could be SWA, on tray using ladders

I did have an information sheet as one of our guy is currently doing it... I'll see if I can dig it out.

So what does the 2356 involve? how longs the course? Is it needed???

EDIT: I've attached some info.. It's from a training provider (Other training providers are available) I'm sure they don't mind me uploading this.

PS I'm not endorsing the training provider as I've never had any dealings with them!

Thankyou so much, makes it all so much more clear.

What would happen if you didnt come across alot of the stuff that they require? There seems to be an aweful lot that needs to be covered.
