Kinda sad that they were the highlight of my xmas presents

Just having a flick through the OSG which has changed a lot with lots of new pretty pictures, feels like its still built to last 5 minutes though

well sadness comes in 2s then fuzzy as i have to admit now that i also have these in the post (a late present).......but if you need em..then.....better to get something that you will use rather than summat that just sits in the corner.......

Ah but did you have to buy it yourself ? Know what you mean with the OSG though, they're not made to last. Mind you it keeps makeing the IET money.
none of it lasts spesh mate....got a GN3 that started to come apart after a few weeks....nope they definately aint up to much "site use"...lol.........think though that if they drop apart you can get a replacement for free from the IET.......

Every GN3 I have owned has had the pages fall out, I think they design them like that every time it happens I think I should ring them and complain but never get round to it,
I need a new 7671 and gn3 as I didn`t get them for christmas I will be forking out for them in the new year.

This sounds like a sob story like "why cant i come in the club?"...only jesting mate..and yes ....the IET books arn`t very well screwed together are they......but as i have said....its the content thats copywrited not the book and as such once you have purchased it......if the damn thing falls apart you can contact the IET for a new one...free of charge.......

I'd wait on GN3 the new one is supposed to be coming out in March

If you're going to cut off the spine you could run it through a scanner and make a searchable pdf file then put it on your phone or ithingy.

Also run a copy or two off and keep the original at home. Then keep the copy in the Van, you can do that with all your flimsy ref books.... lol!!!

An HNC is WELL above any sort of JIB grade TBH.

The 2391-20 will gain you a technician grade. HNC is moving in a different direction altogether. All IMO.

a scanned file wouldn't be searchable!!

how do you find the HNC I sat the 2391-20 twice well once failed the first time and missed my exam earlier this month back on it in 3 weeks!! the HNC is next on my hit list!!!

If you use adobe Acrobat or distiller to create a text pdf then it's searchable. If you file all your pdf regulations in one directory then you can use the search in Adobe reader or full acrobat to search all the regs in directory for certain words or phrases which is also very handy.

It's in a different league academically to the standard electrical installation courses.

The maths is very intense, if you don't have A-level maths, you will need to also take a maths bridging course, that's if you intend doing it with Teesside Uni distance learning.
