Socket fixing

Just a quick one for any tips.
While drilling screw holes for a socket box the hammer action of the drill pushedd the brick into the cavity.
Although not completely lost, to fis with cement etc will take a while to set before trying again.
Does anyone have any quick fix tips so the box can be fixed same day and socket to get power back on the ring being worked on.

I use expanding foam.. Sets firm in no time at all

Slap a bit of drywall adhesive or bonding and set it in there!

You can also buy quick drying cement which goes off within the hour.

I remember my father knocking a brick through on a single brick wall when fitting a socket in the 60's, he thought it had gone into next doors lounge! luckily there was an entry between the houses

My uncle used to live in a terraced house the wall was single skin very old, one day the plaster popped off the wall in his bathroom! Turned out the sparky next door was sinking in a new light switch!!

Bonding with a handful of cement sets in minutes

You never tried mixing it? The other day I put too much in and it was set before I got it out the bucket with my trowel set into it. Solid stuff!

Drill at the angle into the brick above/below/side.

Expanding foam, just refitted my kitchen, chasing walls etc, only to find hollow bricks, joy. Expanding foam to the rescue, worked a treat once it went off

Expanding foam is never gonna be a long term fix in my eyes. Always go for for a cement mix or bonding and cement.

How much cement do you put in the bonding? Say 1 part cement to 5 bonding?

No not that much it will go off to fast,more like 15 to 1. Literally just a handful of cement to a full mixed bucket of bonding
