Just following on from my previous post...

There is dispute over the use of cupboards for sockets, because is it, or is it not the fabric of the building?

For quite a while I always avoided putting in cupboards, but over last year or so heard it was ok to mount in a cupboard, which makes life a lot easier. And have done so ever since...

But got my niceic assement in few weeks times and have kitchen job to show them, sockets in cupboards! Hope there not going to fail me on this ?? If so will have to change job...

Any thoughts from you niceic chaps please?

A cupboard is absolutely fine for sockets. No problems with this from me. I recently had to wire 23 commando sockets in a high rise block in a riser cupboard.

There should not be any problem at all, as i have been assessed and passed many times showing exactly this type of install.

However, each person has his own opinions on this.

No worries on that score Ive got a socket under my sink for washing machine that was put in by NICEIC sparks and when I had my assessment with NICEIC he was not worried.

Hope that helps

Chris
