TBH, I would go with the 5amp socket arrangement. If nothing more heaver to pick up from.
5amp sockets are fine but unfused normally what if the Aerial Booster specifies a 3amp fuse as a lot do?
Treat like any fan manufacture that insists their fan needs protecting with a 3A fuse!! If the unit needs protecting with a 3A fuse, then it should be factory fitted, not be relied on to be provided by an installation electrician or end user....
It's about time these manufactures that come out with all this crap, realise that plugtop and FCU fuses are there to protect the cord/flex or the FCU secondary cables, ....NOT their damned appliances and bits of equipment!!

Scenario - trade comes in to do some work, plugs in power tool, trips MCB taking out loft light, then can't see to get out safely. Defo fcu job or non-std outlet if fuse not req'd.Ok it's not good practice I guess but is it wrong?
It says in the regs it's OK to take lazy shortcuts if you've got kids to feed.
Is that what you wanted to hear?
problem with 5a sockets, Is that you have to cut the plug off the aerial booster, and immediately invalidate warranty.
You will be waiting a loooooooooooooooooooooong time for that.Sack your legal adviser ... its this kind of scaremongering that is the scurge of our profession, please provide any legitimate evidence to back-up your claim :6:
