Sofit Lighting outside

Hi Guys could anyone help me i am looking to add 3 recessed downlights with a blue LED to the sofit abovemy Garage and front door of my House.

Any one recommend any where i can buy these as i can't seem to find anywhere.

Would the watrproof ones used for above showers be ok for these or they anly indoor related?

I am a qualified Elcetrician but been away from the domestic work for 6 yrs andwork in the Oil and gas so have lost all my contacts and information for things like this over the yrs.

Hope somebody can help me out.

These have a small but cheap range of soffit lighting I use them regularly and have always been decent.

Only my opinion, but it seems that all outside lighting doesn't last long.

So don't think you can fit and forget, or maybe it's cos i live next to the sea!

Hey..there are several products of commercial lighting available. My advice to you is just visit the stores and inquire about the products sure they will help you. You can go for fluorescent lights, metal halides, halogen and others if you are not able to find soffit lighting.

You can use 'Normal' IP rated downlights try for IP65 and above though. You can try Aurora - Passionate about Lighting who have a fairly decent range and can be bought through most of the wholesalers like CEF, Edmundsons etc. They have LED's also, good luck.

Hey I'm doin the a job for a guy and he's wanting 7 led's along the front in the soffit, I just said to 3 of my suppliers ( cef, ross, edmunson) what was needed and they've sent me out differen't brochures on lighting. They're very helpful and on the ball!

Yeah the ones i've done in the past were just normal white IP rated GU10 lights. All wired off a PIR so when you walked up the drive they came on looked nice

Miminum IP44 rated downlight.

Maintain fire rating integrity of soffit with fire rated fitting or fire hood (fire hoods are a clart-on though!)
