Hi , i have several grid conneccted panels that have been installed for many years and added to (not certified)and is (now 8 x 80 watts) max is about .5kW, My property has a digital electric meter and I am sure that when i produce more electricity that we use ie when at work or holiday that the surplus is increasing my meter reading.

with the old style meter it would go backwards when producing more energy than is being used buy i dont think the same applies to the white digital meter , any experts out there hjave any advice???

Is the meter a Siemens model? If so then you may have a problem. Speak to the supplier and ask them their views.

I'm not exactly sure where you stand with your energy bills that you have paid up to this point and where the law stands. As far as I can see, the meter is effectively faulty and therefore incapable of producing an accurate record. You could argue that this is has been the case since your system was installed and therefore you should be in line for some compensation.

Agree with BiggsSolar, but only on the proviso that you had informed your supplier about the panels when they were installed.

The meter was in the property when I purchased house , the panels were fitted by myself and are not certified the electric supplier has not been notified that theye were fitted. 8 panels x 80 watt and a mastervolt 600 grid tie invertor
