Technical question, how do you sync the light switching to the soundtrack?

this is bigger scale but when i was back in school i did it with a computer programme and a couple of LED lights to make the LED lights come on and off when ever i wanted so just a stab in the dark but he could have just done something on those lines.. Spent a while desigining it on the PC then connecting it up and the PC controlls when the lights come on and off

Standard disco stuff. laser shows, lights shows, takes a bit of pre-programming, straightforward with the right kit

I did something a while ago on a smaller scale. I used a MIDI sequencer and one of these - NJD MP820 MIDI Power Pack

I now have it set up in my home studio.
