Question for you solar guys. My neighbour has had fitted a 3.3kw solar PV array with an Effekta ES3300 invertors. Using an Owl+USB energy monitor that records the kW’s generated by the min graph the results and you can see the point at which the invertors goes into standby. At this point and until the array voltage rises in the morning the monitor records a constant 150w flow and as there is no light this must be the invertors standby usage. Now two things I question is one, the standby consumption is shown in the manual as <= 15w. Two the accuracy of the energy monitor. I have brought a clamp on ammeter from work and this shows 0.5A so 0.5A*230v = 115w.
Is this correct or is there some power factor details missing or has the invertors a fault.
115w is quite a lot for standby. Your comments would be welcome.
