I have looked at the few bags of this type on the market and they are all very expensive for what they are. The best and cheapest I have seen were made for a company I fit for on occasion and only available to their fitters but if you know somebody good with a sewing machine all you need is some rip stop nylon or mod cotton, some foam padding, a bit of piping edge, some seatbelt strapping and bobs your uncle. They can be made for less than ÂŁ75.

Hi,

hecticbenj, makes a valid point that you could knock one up yourself. Anything has to be better than a 1tonne sand bag or two sheets of MDF with span sets! A proper, purchased bag helps raise the profile of the competent fitter on site in front of the customer.

There are lots of "issues" with this home brew lifting equipment on site though. Testing and certification.
