Can properties with pre paid card electricity meters have pv fitted. Had a customer ring saying a few installers she had spoke to are saying no is this true

i have installed with a prepay meter, I noted the manufacture and model number and gave the manufacturer a call to confirm.

They said the meter will need credit at all times(obviously as the inverter needs to see AC to feed grid) and if more power is generated than demand (i.e export) the meter will flag reverse energy (anti theift and that).

Simples.

I have heard that some meters may disconnect supply if reverse energy is detected, but phone manufacturer best bet.

advise client to go on standard credit meter , this is free if the prepay meter wasnt installed to collect the customers debt in ( ie previous occupant ran up the bad debt ) the electricity from grid will be 18% cheaper if they shop arround
