Hi Guys,

Since the government reduced the FIT is there still work out there or has it dried up?

It's really that bad ... that's pretty dreadful. I sincerely hope it picks up for all of you.

I'm not an installer, but I think that there are several problems:

1.
Potential buyers are put off - or excluded entirely - by EPC requirements.
That seems crazy and a great shame, since a homeowner wanting to increase their eco-friendliness may be prohibited just because their house doesn't tick a box on a form. Therefore the house remains less eco-friendly than if it had been allowed to install PV.

2.
The boom-bust nature of solar due to government rule changes leaves many people confused. Others curse for "missing out" on 43p and are sulking that they can only get 21p whereas the bloke next door got 43p (even though 21p still represents a good investment).

3.
Many people believe that solar is a gimmick. This may not be helped by the likes of Which? publishing criminally-misleading figures on the merits of PV compared to other options.
As a professional investor myself (financial markets, rather than PV) I can say that 21p looks like a damned good rate of return for 3-4kWp systems, given the current economic situation, financial market turblence and the alternative places to put money in hopes of earning a half-decent return.
