Hi
I am due to my inspection and testing exam, so please help me out if possible
I have some questions that need answering.
Any help is much appreciated
  1. When carrying out testing how do we number the circuit breakers? Is it form left to right or form where the main switch side?
  2. When carrying out continuity test and other tests it better to disconnect one circuit at time or all at one time and carry out tests?
  3. When carrying out dead testing (continuity only)is it better to disconnect the gas and water conductor form the main earthing terminal. I heard it is better to avoid parallel paths. Is this correct?
  4. When carrying out dead polarity test for lighting point do we switch off the light switch and carry out test?
Many thanks.

  1. When carrying out testing how do we number the circuit breakers? Is it form left to right or form where the main switch side? generally No.1 is nearest the main switch
  2. When carrying out continuity test and other tests it better to disconnect one circuit at time or all at one time and carry out tests? once you have determined that there is no link/s beween circuits, either way will do
  3. When carrying out dead testing is it better to disconnect the gas and water conductor form the main earthing terminal. I heard it is better to avoid parallel paths. Is this correct? usually, YES.
  4. When carrying out dead polarity test for lighting point do we switch off the light switch and carry out test? switch on and off to ensure the switch is in the line, not the neutral.
Many thanks.
my personal opinions. not gospel.

You would have thought they'd have a switch to flick on and off to engage an override. Not on each PIR but an actual light switch
