Depends what area is used for, halide better for working area if machinery etc.

Have you considered low energy option using florries, just cost alot more than high bays.
how many you looking at?

only 4 i suggested flourescents as a cheaper runnin option but he didn't seem that keen

how much does he want to pay? Usual mechanics budget less than £100 in cluding materials?

lol! no they are new build was burnt down last year

fire not caused by blown halide lamp was it???

Speak to suppliers and show the the new florries, HF, better light and more controlable with lux meters etc.
