Sorry cooker advice

Hi

I have a customer who has a cooker plugged into a 45amp cooker socket (cooker cable is 2.5 flex) with a 10mm cable back to a 32amp breaker! They have recently had the cooker serviced and have been told this cooker should be wired directly as during it's self clean cycle it used 3.6kw for 1.5 hours.

Can the cooker flex be directly wired into the cooker switch and will it be capable of taking the 32amp breaker out? The flex on the cooker is 1.5m

can you not rewire the cooker? whats the load?

the cooker "flex" should be taken away as 2.5 cant handle this load. hard wire 6mm twin and earth from the cooker to a cooker connection plate.

Sorry there is an induction hob connected who's total power consumption max is 6.5kw

What load are you saying it can't handle? It was supplied with the 2.5mm flex

I can rewire the cooker if I need to and that is the easiest solution

yes rewire with a 6mm tail straight from cooking point!

2.5 radials cant be fused at 32a. even 28a is too much for 2.5. max it.ll take is 27a.

So there would be a 10mm supply on a 32amp mcb to a 45amp cooker switch

From there 6mm cable to the induction hob and 6mm to the cooker?

the mcb protects the cable, the max the cooker switch can "switch" is 45amps, a 6mm to each will be fine!

yes, the smallest cable on the circuit must be able to handle the max load of the circuit breaker. 10mm fine, 45a switch fine, 6mm fine.
