Can anyone describe between SP&N isolator and double pole isolator?

A switch disconnector has to:-
Provide an effective clearance between the supply and the load appropriate to the voltage applied.
Provide a means of locking in the 'Off' position. (Padlocking)
Provide a true indication of the contact state.
Provide a safe disconnection from the supply even under fault conditions
A double pole switch dosn't have to meet all these set requirements.....
The two terminologies function the same more or less although when talking switch disconnectors you may also have 'early make - late break' on the neutral especially on 3ph... the uses of the 2 terms relates to requirements of the isolation needed...
DP isolator both contacts break together. SP+N the neutral is early make, late break. Or it has been for the last 40 years I know of.
