Greetings all.

Can anyone help me out? I am going to Almeria in November for a motorbike event and want to use whatever the Spanish equivalent of the IP44 16A outdoor plug is.

The garages we use have limited standard Spanish domestic 2-pin outlets so I am after the alternative as it turns into a bit of a bunfight with regards to power.

I have struck out on the interweb searches, can't be more specific about the socket type I am afraid, and the best I can do is this picture that shows the red socket that I am trying to find the plug for.

Much oblidged.

These types of sockets are pretty much the same in Spain, the Red 16A 4-pin socket is probably the one you want, the next size up is 32A they come in 4-pin and 5-pin are you bringing equipment and you just need a plug for it?

Indeed, all I need is the plug to wire up to my extension lead. Are they easy to find in Spain? I am flying into Malaga to see a mate then driving up to Almeria that afternoon so could pick one up then.

Thanks for your help.

These are an international standard plug link. Any electrical wholesaler or Gewiss agent should have them on the shelf. As already pointed out they commonly occur in 3-pin 4-pin and 5-pin configurations and it's impossible to tell from your picture so maybe take one of each to hedge your bets.

Hi as already said these plugs are pretty much standard across europe.
I suggest you go to your local CEF. get the details of what you want, and then pick it at the CEF in Almeria or Malaga. If you have a part number solves the language problem, but from what I can gather most of the CEF's in Spain are run by Expats.
But for info purposes the Spanish for Plug is "clavija"
