I read that if you change lanes between cameras, yes they will still get your registration number, but you cant be prosecuted as when the cameras were first tested-licenced for use the full multi lane testing wasn't done to save government money..(as usual)....therefore its a technicality that they are only able to prosecute speeders who enter and exit in same lane http://www.standard.co.uk/news/drivers-can-avoid-speeding-ticketsby-changing-lanes-7190770.htmlduff info there mate, specs use anpr so doesnt matter what lane your in..

Appreciate how it may look but it was straight after a 40 zone going to a 30 zone. I'm not a reckless idiot. Generally a safe driver and this scare has def made me think. Sticking to limits all the time now. Cheers fellas
what you have to remember that when you see a sign that says 30 after a 40 there could well be a fixed camera or a van right behind that sign and if you ever drive in wales word of warning they have more mobile cameras than sheep
Just reading through myself and thought if basic % is a problem how the hell do they cope with cable calcs :stupid:I hate to say this, but there's some rotten maths in here. 30+3%=30.9
For a fact its 10% plus 10mph, so a fixed camera in a 30 zone will go off at 43mph, its the same if you get pulled over by a camera car, up to 42mph is down to copper discretion so don't be a cock, over 42mph its automatic 3 points and a fine. Mobile camera vans are a different story.
On a motorway if you see distance marks on the ground under a gantry and there is a speed reduction showing, if the speed has a red circle around it that means the camera's are active.
Over a 100mph is the serious mark as well so if you get pulled doing over when asked say 95!
Working for the police I used to have a list of when and where the mobile camera vans would be, and what they were having a push on, small number plates that kind of thing.
And also a speedo can be up to 10% inaccurate to allow for tolerance, but mainly tire wear, but they always over read not under! The ones in cop cars are specially re calibrated by the manufacturer for greater accuracy.
i think its about 3% over for a speedo so 35 was probably around 32,i find my satnav is more or less spot on with speed reading,30 mph on sat nav is around 33 on speedo on my astra, you might be lucky this time ed..:wink5:
