Hi
anybody using the splice line connectors ? I have and think they are great just wanted other peoples opinions. I seen a photo of some that had failed recently (not my job) but to be fair I think they were fitted on flex !

Look good for splicing, better than the same direction ones, certainly not for flex.
I like them and use them, not been using them more than a year but no failures so far.
interestingly hellerman tyton have produced some push fits that can be opened using a screwdriver so they can be used on flex, stranded and solid cables, and the cable can be released by using the opening point, however they do not do the splice ones I believe.

Yea I really like them too just got a bit spooked when I seen the cables melted but like I said I think it was flex, though I never got to inspect the failed joint the guy that did said they were horrible things not fit for purpose but he has seen them used incorrectly, just wanted a few other opinions. Cheers

I find them great when used correctly however I have come across a few installed incorrectly too. I only really use them on a board change to extend cables within the board that are too short. Also use them in light fittings to link through a permanent live on a circuit with emergency lights.

I think they are OK, but I'm not as convinced as I am with all the other wago/ideal/hellerman connectors I use. They have a disconcerting way of letting the "clamped" cable rotate rather freely.

No push connector should be used with flex, there are clamp connectors available for that. Push fit is only suitable for solid drawn or coarse stranded.
