hello chaps, what are your opinions of the 2 cable types, I have used the swa many times but aguy has suggested trying the split concentric cable types. He says it's easier to work with and cheaper to but etc. I am awaiting a price fr the wholesalers to compare the two cost.

Also, can any of you point me where in the regs book it talks about running cables outdoors etc. I want to run a feed from an isolator shwitch to a C/U partly along an outside wall. I want to check how it has to be proctected etc, if at all. (been looking but geting that boggly eyed feeling and can't locate it)

Thanks Ross.

Spilt con must be treated the same as twin and earth as it has no mechanical protection like SWA.

Running a cable outdoors may not need mechanical protection.

This is all very dependant on the environment to which is installed.

Thanks for all your advice chaps,
thought i had posted a genuine question on a topic i am not familiar with and obviously some of you chaps are.

what do you get, sarcy answers!!!!!

what does "is that post of the year genuine" supposed to mean???

If the shared neutral is lost ,won`t you be getting 400v across both cottages? 2 phase US style but double the Voltage.
