Itselectric just ignore Murdoch he is having a bad week by the look of things!! Don't know why he bothers coming in here he just writes arsy comments!!
By all accounts he makes out he knows what he is talking about but never actually comes out with any solution.

But you can spoon feed these people??

if a poster seems to be a trainee, learning the trade, then i will answer a question to the best of my ability. i've lost count of the times i have made the comment " get an electrician in" if i think the poster is out of his depth. i don't class that as spoon feeding.

Why should I come out with a solution when its obvious the poster hasn't a clue.... whereas the posters who say I want to do this and I'm planning on doing it this way and include detail will get feedback that is helpful.

Do you give away your skill all the time? and remember there are a lot of DIYers on here posing as Electricians who sooner or later get "outed".

And while I'm at it you need to brush up on RCD discrimination.

Hah very good! Well why slate my time delay comment (maybe earth rod bit I didn't state clear so deserved a laugh) and then you suggested time delay further down! I'm all ears if you want to explain what's wrong with the time delay method instead of one comment like "clueless" or whatever you said
