split supply on two meters

Key operated meter in main house. A studio flat is about to be built at the far end of the garden with its own board. Can the main supply be split on two meters - the existing key meter for the house, and a new key operated one for the studio? What the regs says about how this could be done?

big question is who will be paying the bill? is it necessary for 2 meters?

Have you contacted the DNO to ask if they are happy for two meters off one supply?

It's nothing to do with the Regs..(bs 7671)...only the DNO can advise on their own metering,you will need to contact them.
