Can i spur 2 sockets in a radial from a ring without a fused conection unt if I use 4mm T&E?

Regs say NO..........see p362 BRB conductor sizes are given are minimums and increasing the size wont make any difference.

technically using a higher rated cable should be allowed for this..... BUT ........ its not.

you could put a fused spur off the ring main and then have as many sockets off that as you like.

This is very odd that we cant do this! Regulations smegulations. Another ugly fused spur it is then!

Just wait till rings are made obsolete and radials are the only way.......................Its going to be a spur mess

Thats not the way things are going im afraid, the officials who make the regulations will never be out of the safety electrical ring , meaning the regulations will get tighter and tighter. Probably so tight one day that each metre of the ring main will require an continuity alarm that sounds if the reading increases by 2 ohms between that part of cable or something as ridiculous as that.
