And the reason there was no DC at the inverter? any ideas?!!! Needless to say the customer's insurance company wouldn't cover vermin damage so we replaced this panel at cost and had to repair a few of the other cables. Has anyone else suffered this badly? luckily it was the top panels and we could comfortably get to them from the ridge ladder with harnesses on otherwise it would have been a scaffold job.

2 years ago I had to re wire my loft space 3 times in a year due to squirrels. Evil evil things. Took a further 3 months to full fill all the places they were getting in with expandable foam laced with chicken wire. Used just foam at first but the ate through that.
fingers crossed I've been vermin free for a year now

I know this would not help on this occasion , but if you need to keep vermin out , a rentakill worker once told we to stuff the holes with wire wool as it really messes them up when they try and chew through it .
