gregh

I've been reading this forum with interest as i've just started my own company, i have not actually done any work yet! I already have a full time job that involves a lot of travel which i don't want to do anymore. My background is in Industrial/Commercial install work but i am aware that i will need to take any work i can get, when i finally take the plunge.

I'm currently in the process of reasearching insurance and which scheme to join.

I feel NICEIC are the most familiar to customers but it's a catch 22, i haven't done any work yet, so how can they assess me?

What are the minimum levels of insurance, i should be looking to get?

Thanks in advance for your help.

2mill pubic liability, maybe 1/4mill professional indemnity (shop around and get a combined policy with tools cover thrown in) try napit or elecsa and you should be able to do notifiable work then notify through them once you have passed assessment..
