Dooby
Go me! Am very excited. Even though I would actually be financially better off serving fries in McDonalds.
I do plan on whining intermittently about pay, terms and conditions, which are bad. Especially the conditions. But I have to think of this as a very temporary stage, a means to an end, coz if I'm on those wages for long I'm gonna end up homeless, seriously.
I'm domestic qualified, will be working in a domestic/commercial site. Want to look at getting my 2394/5 quick as I can at evening class to have a bit of bargaining power, trying to sort that now.
So assuming I'm being paid same as the men, which I have yet to ascertain and have reason to doubt - how long would one usually be on entrance level pay? Or IS there a usual in these situations? Likely to be able to prove myself in 3 months? 6? A year?
I'm aware there may be no fixed answer to this. I just need to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it not to be an oncoming train..
