and the 2330 L2 & 3

so come on then...do you have em?

or are you not really an electrician?.....really...

And the simple answer is there is nothing to stop you setting up an electrical business without any qualifications.

But the chances are pretty high that you would get found out pretty quickly, hopefully when an unhappy customer phones trading standards and not when the police come knocking due to a death resulting fro dangerous work.

No i am not qualified, i asked a simple question.. Jesusssssss :p

Are you saying he as no qualifications either, you just can't trust anyone these days :sifone:

You can't start a company because a bloke around there has.

You need to be qualified, and go see an accountant.

If you're trading and advertising as something you're not, that's fraud, not just morally wrong.

You get a few strikes (fines) and then prison for fraud. ASA deal with it daily. That's not even quoting electrical industry regulations and whatnot there.

Sorry, but wrong.

You cannot claim to be something that you are not, which requires a specific recognised qualification - ie doctor, dentist and so on. However, as there is no one definition of what an electrician actually IS, it is impossible to enforce except for resorting to health and safety legislation in the event of a specific complaint or issue. Even EAWR does not give a definition, just a set of boundary possibilities. This is why the industry is in such a mess and now over-run by Electrical Trainee's.

I have never knitted a woolly jumper in my life, however if I wanted to start up "Sid's Knitting Commissions Ltd" there is absolutely nothing to stop me.
