Good afternoon guys/girls

I'm looking for a little bit of advice I'm employed and work full time mob-fri. I'm looking into carrying out small jobs for a friends building company mainly EICR's on a weekend and some notifiable work.
my question is do i need to be with a self certifying scheme like niceic etc for carrying out EICR's, minor works and new installation cert any advice would be gratefully appreciated

regards

Adam .

Thank you for your reply mate I would say I personally do have enough experience I have the 2394 & 2395 exam and have been part of the testing team on a big industrial site. But I know I'm wet behind for the ears but I feel I could carry out the test and inspections on my own or do you think I'm biting off more than I can chew so to speak

You need to consider the rammifications of this

1. You'll need PL ins
2. Consider having PI ins
3. Tell your vehicle insurnance company you are doing business mileage
4. Notify HMRC of your 2nd income as you'll need to do self assessment
5. Check your employment contract that you can do this
6. Brouse the business section further for relevent information

and I would think very clearly about working for a "friends" building company when you are only available out of hours - my guess is that they will need you during the week!
