Hi all
If you were to start up tomorrow and money was tight what would be the minimum kit that you would need ????

depends what sort of work you are going to be doing. most have the minimum amount of tools to start up on their own anyway even if you work for a company

insulated drivers, cutters, pliers, multimeter!

Amazing what you don't need, equally what you do!

I never seem to stop buying stuff, I really do have a tool fetish. New tools spend the night in the living room being mauled and caressed before being whisked off to the next job to a life of hardship and abuse...:D

Glad I'm not alone. I can't even bring myself to take new sets of drivers to work! I keep using other drivers and leave the Irazolas indoors to keep them nice :D

I bought a new drill the other month, I couldn't stop taking it out the case and fiddling around with it, well I had to condition the batteries! I even took it over to show my folks, my Dad was temtped to get one, christ knows why, he's 68 and wouldn't know how to use it anyway, but that doesn't really matter does it...:D

A few weeks on and it's covered in plaster dust and it's doubling up as a hammer to knock plugs into walls, as usual...

I'm still 'toying' with idea of getting a set of 'zola's?' I bought some Wera's several months ago.......yeah come to think of it, it's about time I replaced them old drivers...

About to put my Iras in the dishwasher.......2 days in soot and rat infested victorian loft has left them rather black!

Dont tell the wife!

nearly bought the wera set at excel today to go with my set of ck`s and klaukes, ?? can`t help myself but managed to resist the temptation.

I nearly bought some klauke's when I went last year! The Wera's are ok, could be a bit more comfy though!

Bought a pair of CK modulo's the other week, nice drivers! They really make a difference when working on a c/u compared to pozi's, dunno why I never got some years ago?!

Hi all
If you were to start up tomorrow and money was tight what would be the minimum kit that you would need ????

A multifunction tester
One of them screwdrivers with interchangeable heads.
A pair of pliers with a cutting section (oft called electricians pliers)
Small hammer drill.
A fishtape/draw wire and a wire coat hanger.

This is my 'bicycle' kit. You can get away with a lot of minor and small works with it.

EDIT: Mind you, using just these things will make your jobs take so long that you will be working for less than minimum wage.
