Ive been working for a contractor for the last 4 years and 2 years for another before that. I have completed my nvq to level 3 and 2330 to level 3 and am2. I am booked to do my regs course. I am thinking about going on my own, How do i stand with out my inspect and test? will a trade organizeation ie napit take me with the view that i am going to sit it. Obviously i wont be able to carry out periodic inspections but would like to be able to carry out my own work etc before i get my qualification in inspect and test.

Yeh but they will want the 2391 gained within 12 months. You can do pir's without it aslong as you have private indemnity

That wasn't very clear, what I ment was that if you go with napit and they expect you to gain it in a month then it can take twice that just to get the 2391 results so surely if you fail then they cant give you the boot a couple months in?

wouldnt of thought so but the other option is to sit Napits free two day assesment which will give you their version of the 2391 which removes the need from sitting the full 2391.

thanks for the info, I would go with napit any way. Just want to do things properly but at the same time eager to get set up ad with the costs of courses etc it will be easyer to take the course after a few months of trading when ive made a little mony
