Hi all,

anyone tell me how to accurately measure module temperature in situ to allow for calculations and test results to be checked and cross referenced. Is it purely air temperature ?

any helps with one would be much appreciated.

it's panel temp, and hard to measure accuratly, about the best you can do is with a laser thermometer, but be aware that these can give unreliable readings due to reflectivity of the glass etc

STC = STC (Standard TEST Conditions) that's what it means!
In practice on an installation you'll never achieve it.
So you need to make allowances for actual light hitting the panels (Orientation, elevation), hence you need a light meter and some way to get an indication of the temperature of the panels, as GavinA syas above laser thermometers work OK ish, so long as you understand the limitations. You can then make allowances for these on your Voc and Isc.

You could also stick a piece of black tape on the panel, and then point your laser thermometer at that, this will give you a more accurate temperature.
Don't forget to remove it after though....
