SteAM2

Hello

I am taking my AM2 test in a couple of weeks, I have seen all the useful information on the other threads and it has given me a lot more confidence with my AM2 (Thanks for that). I don't know if anyone has any more information or a step by step guide because I am still a little confused by the S-Plan heating system and 3 Phase Motor stuff. It would be good to see that explained in more detail. Also I am going on a 2 day course at my test centre next week so was wondering if anyone has been on this course and if it was worth their while as I have heard mixed reviews. Any information or input on the AM2 would mean a lot.

Cheers, Ste.

The two day course is just a pre am2 course on mine we did a very small ammount of prac and went through the testing and just went through things that we were unsure about helps calm the nerves and get ready for the exam.

Dont worry about the s plan system mate it just a case of identifying all the different valves and just following the drawing step by step, id never seen an s plan system before my am2 and it was fine just allow some time to do the s plan or better yet just do it right at the beginning and get it out of the way.

The motors the same i thought that the internal wiring of the DOL starter is already installed for you mine was lol, so it just glanding an swa from the board to the dol and glanding an syflex from the dol to a pretend motor.

The am2 is easy i know your probably thinking its easy after youve done it but as you probably know its-
Safe isolatiion procedure
Installation-2 way intermediate light, ring main, radial in fp to fcu for detector, motor supply and s plan
fault rectification and diagnosis rig
then full inspect and test on your rig

ive still got the pwork if you need more info just shout
